Looks like ole robbie took the site down. There is a atv explorers.org but not from rob. I bet he will still keep the url just to spite others.

This site has been shut down due to lack of interest.

Pretty much sums it up.

Sure seems like it. Rob was before my time. However, I have heard a ton of some unbelievable campfire HitHead camping stories.

Someday you will have to bring some :entertain me: and hear some of those tails and be Jawsdrops:

:rotfl: I'm not surprised a bit

Most of the stories I remember belong right in the :outhouse:

In fact he is the reason I found this site

I came across his site when I was helping out Marc & France with
the Quad Trek tour from Canada to the Baja and his posts were
to me just to far out so I popped over here to get the rest of the
story and it did not take long to figure out where the problem was :baby:

There was also another clown back around '05 who kept jumpin' from site to
site stating what a great mod he was and ended up really screwing up
a bunch of systems and causing many members not to frequent a few sites :shakefinger:

I will admit over the years only a handful of sites have lasted after the big spike in '06
and it's always because of the members...dudes like Rob are just a thing of the past

I still popped over there from time to time just to see what was going on, but "lack of interest" does sum it up quite well.

Goodbye Rob.

The one thing I remember from the couple of trips involving Rob was the incredible distance he could throw his helmet (Silver Peak) and then whine that his radio headset inside was broken! :boohoo: I too would go check out the site once in a while and there never seemed to be any new postings.

I try never to use "LOL", but this literally made me laugh out loud, so I guess it's appropriate!

If helmet tossing were an olympic event, Rob would take the gold every time!

I hate to slam the guy, because he was kind enough to haul my quad all the way from Reno to Pioche for me in the days before I had a trailer, and I did appreciate it greatly. After the site split, and even while it was still together, it seemed like Rob preferred more technical riding than getting out and exploring. Honestly, he was a fairly skilled rider. But I have never had the desire to go out on the Rubicon and spend 12 hours just to travel 10 miles. I would much prefer to spend the day covering as much country as possible, and seeing what's out there to explore, not climbing some gnarly hill just because it's there.
