At first glance, I would worry about the tread depth a little bit. They don't look as hearty as the Bighorns or some other tires on the market. I searched a few reviews and forums online and the general consensus seems to match my own. Decent mud/light trail tires, but not really intended for heavy duty desert trail riding. One brief, but to the point review said... "Worst Tires I have ever owned, 400 miles of trail riding and 3 slices in the side walls. No tread depth, they feel like they are constantly slipping. ITP failed with these!"

I'd say spring a little bit more and go with the Bighorns. They're tried and tested for the type of riding we do, and I have yet to see anyone who has been totally disappointed with them. The original Bighorns are pretty heavy, but they last forever! If weight and top end speed are really a factor, you can grab the Bighorn 2.0. Made from a lighter material, shaving off a whopping 5 lbs per tire. Seems like they perform just as well, but they don't seem to last as long as the original ones. I'm running the 2.0's on my KQ right now, but I actually haven't had it out since I had the tires mounted.

They've always had the best prices, as far as I know. I told my wife I wanted a set for Christmas, and she went to Michaels. I won't tell you how much she paid. Then they had the nerve to try and charge me a mounting fee of $10 per tire. They eventually waived that fee after I asked to return the tires.

I'm not sure, but I know I mounted the 2.0's on the KQ's stock wheels without a problem. I'm sure that Rocky Mountain would be able to steer you in the right direction.

I think the big horns are a great choice, I think the stock rims are pretty good, I would run those unless you were looking for a different offset or just wanted a cool looking rim. If you were to buy tires monted on new wheels you could craiglist your old set to try and recoup some cash.
