Anyone know the history of whomever is buried here?

Since they are about a 1/2 mile from New Boston....only speculating...two miners from New Boston? Maybe murdered along the trail?

Nice discovery there Mr. Explorer.

What kind of camera are you using? :thumb34:

Canon digital and a Kodak Zi8 camcorder
(recorded at 720p 60fps...no, it's not true HD, no camera less and $700 is true HD...oh, and youtube converts it to 720p 30fps max. They supposedly support 1080p, but I believe it's still only 30fps)

These graves are on the USGS topo map, but no other info. Kind of interesting to have two graves. Then again, maybe this was the start of the New Boston cemetery? Maybe the folks at the ranch nearby know something...

I didn't have any luck finding any names either. Only thing I found in researching was that a couple of mill workers at the New Boston Mill had been killed in an accident. Didn't mention names and there wasn't any follow up in subsequent issues of the newspaper in Hawthorne. Maybe someone at the Mineral County Museum might know. I'll stop by there next time I am whizzing through on my way up to Carson.

Shawn,

Any idea when those burials took place? I'm curious to see how much time elapsed between the burial and the condition of those graves. I would have to guess that they were buried in 1890's? Just my guess from looking at the grave condition.
Not too much longer 20-30 years and you won't even be able to tell there were graves there.
